What should I do if I discover a leak in my home?

2022-06-09T18:15:17+00:00June 9, 2022||

The first thing you should do if you have a leak is turn off the water by finding and turning off the stop tap. This will keep water out of the house and reduce damage. Then, unless you're handy, you should usually call an emergency plumber. Meanwhile, look for the source of the leak, which could be a burst pipe, a faulty tap, a weak pipe joint, or a faulty sink or toilet. While you wait for the plumber, use old towels and sheets to absorb as much water as possible. We will always try to return your call the same day. If you have a leak, please contact us as soon as possible at 079 1337 0126

How do I isolate a leaking tap or toilet?

Look underneath for the isolation valve and turn the central ball a ¼ turn  with a flat headed screw driver, ie with the flat headed screw driver in line with the pipe the valve is open / across the pipe the valve is closed. It will not drip or leak again until you arrange for a plumber to investigate and repair the problem.
