How do I check the water pressure in my house?

You can test your own water pressure if you believe it is too low (bath takes a long time to run, shower has little power, etc.). Get yourself a timer and a 1-2 litre jug (you can usually find one on most smartphones). Set the timer for 6 seconds, then pour water into the jug until the timer goes off. Now multiply the volume of water in litres (say, 0.9 litres) by 10. This gives you the flow rate in litres per minute (0.9 litres in 6 seconds equals 9 litres per minute, for example). Flow rates of less than 10 litres per minute are considered low. 10 – 15 litres per minute is sufficient but could be increased. More than 15 litres per minute is regarded as satisfactory. There are steps we can take once you’ve confirmed your water pressure and determined that it could be improved. Please call us at  079 1337 0126 for more information.
